Elim Annual Sports Day 2019-2020

Elim Preschool, Doddakannelli, Sarjapur Road, Annual Sports Day, 2019-2020, held at Decathlon, Sarjapur Road, on November 30 (Sat), attended by the whole school. It was a very blessed day, where all the parents, students, and staff, attired with a sporty look and spirit, gathered together for a fun-filled, relaxing morning. The entire program was organized and anchored by Elim Staff, together with our Sports Trainer Mr Hariprasad. We want to thank all our staff for their hard work, parents, for co-operation and support, and Decathlon, Sarjapur Road, for allowing us to use the facilities. We also want to thank God for safety and pleasant weather.

Elim's weekly sports activities include Sports Stacking Game, taught by our Sports Trainer Mr Hariprasad. There are also video learning classes for students in Elim's Music Room where we teach music notation, learning concepts, stories, rhythms, etc.

Elim Preschool has weekly Sports Activities planned and executed by our Sports Trainer Mr Hariprasad. The activities take place at Elim's Sports Ground, adjacent to Elim Preschool. Elim School Assembly on Aug 26, 2019

Elim Preschool has school assembly on every Monday, and it is the time the students sing songs and choruses to focus their attention to God, the Almighty, the Creator of Heavens and Earth. Children learn and sing that God is so good and loves everyone of them through Jesus Christ, our Lord. 

This is the time children also learn a short story with a moral theme. 

We also give a senior student (Senior KG Class) an opportunity to readout the news for the week.

Finally, to create an awareness of love and devotion for our country, we have the National Pledge and Anthem. 

Independence Day Program 2019

Elim Preschool celebrated our nation's Independence Day 2019 on Aug 14 (Wed) with color, music, dance, and devotion to our nation. Students from all the departments of Elim participated with various themes, making the event colorful and memorable. Thanks to all the parents for dressing up children so neatly and meaningfully. Elim has a music room called Sound of Music Room where we introduce music rhythm, music notations, dance, audio-video learning with connectivity to the internet. The following photos and videos are from our Nursery class. 

School Assembly on Mondays

On every Monday Elim Preschool begins with School Assembly as the whole School assemble at the Elim Playground. At the Assembly students sing songs, hear a short story with a moral/spiritual lesson, National Pledge, and National Anthem. These shots and video are from today's School Assembly (July 22, 2019). Sports Stacking Program At Elim Preschool

Sports Stacking Classes is a new initiative at Elim Preschool for the Academic Year 2019-2020. Mr Hariprasad is the person in charge for Sports Stacking Federation in India, who come to Elim on every Friday to offer this program to our students. Sports Stacking helps to improve students' hand and mind co-ordination better, stimulate the brain, helps to improve concentration, etc. 

Sports Activities on Thursdays

For the Academic Year 2019-2020, Elim Preschool has appointed a specialist sports trainer for the weekly Physical Education (PE) Program. Mr Hariprasad was a former national hockey player who is now become a physical education trainer. We make use of his expertise for our students. He is also the National Sports Stacking Federation in charge for Karnataka, and offers Sports Stacking Program at Elim.

Our Programs (and Age)

Junior Nursery (2.0-2.8)

Early childhood learning is planned here with a special focus on children interacting each other through indoor play activities, music, art & craft, story-telling, and outdoor play and games. This helps children to enrich their communication skills, be confident and independent at an early age.

Senior Nursery (2.8-3.10)

Children’s organized learning begins here with a well-planned curriculum, focusing on phonics, enrichment of vocabulary, writing, and working with thematic materials to enhance their understanding on the basic areas of early childhood education and practical life.

Kindergarten (3.8-6.0)

Children advance in their early school learning process here with the help of fully equipped Montessori classrooms. Children are prepared to make and read simple sentences with correct pronunciation, cursive writing, advance in arithmetic, express themselves confidently through show & tell, engage themselves in group and thematic activities, participate in competitive games and activities, etc, etc.

Circular #2, 2019-2020

Dear Parents, we have begun the new academic year (2019-20) pretty well. Almost all the new admissions of Pre-Nursery and Nursery classes have started their schooling on Monday.

Tomorrow (June 05, Wednesday) will be a holiday due to Ramzan. We also want to remind all the existing parents that the School resumes on Thursday (June 06) for all classes. For Thursday and Friday (June 06 and 07), the class timing will be 09.00 – 11.00 am.

For the month of June, the regular school timing will be from 09.00 – 12.00 noon. This will be applicable from Monday (June 10). School transportation also will be functional from Monday (June 10). All those who are availing Elim transportation need to confirm with Elim office by Friday (June 07). Those parents who have not collected the books and bags, pls do so by Friday (June 07).

Pls also be reminded that, for this academic year, Elim no longer avail the service of Eduflex School App, instead, for communication purpose, we rely on WhatsApp and Email. For this purpose, we are updating the parents’ Email and WhatsApp ids, and pls enter this in the School Diary, which will be issued on Friday (June 07).

Those parents who have not paid the first installment of School fee, including transportation, need to be paid on or before June 15. A fee reminder note will be sent to you by next week.

For all the new parents, there will be an orientation on June 15 (Saturday) and the time will be 10.30 – 11.30 am.

Circular #1, 2019-2020

Information to all Parents

Welcome to Elim Preschool, Academic Year, 2019-20.

Thank you dear parents for placing your trust upon us, and entrusting your precious children into our hands for another academic year. We look forward to doing our very best (as we have always been doing by the grace and strength of our Almighty God) in fulfilling your expectations on us. During the holiday season we have done lots of developmental work on and around the campus to make the place more conducive for all our parents and students. You will be able to witness these things on the first day of the new academic year.

For the new academic year, there will be lots of new things. As announced during the last year’s annual day service, the school timing will be extended from 12.00 noon to 12.30 pm. Elim will be discontinuing its Daycare service from this academic year onwards, and as a result, we are able to give more attention to our Preschool children.

For this year, we have appointed Mr Harikumar as our Sports Trainer, and he, together with the respective class teachers, will take care of the physical education part of the School. There will be weekly planned sports activities all through the academic year.

Elim has got a new and bigger vehicle, 27 seater Tempo Traveller, so that our transportation department is better placed to handle the daily commuting of our students. Our vehicles are now with the GPS system as well.

For communications, Elim will be discontinuing the Eduflex App system, and instead, relying more on Email, WhatsApp, Facebook, and Elim blog for communication with parents.

For the New Academic Year, Pls Note the Following:

·         The School reopens on June 03 (Monday) for the Pre-Nursery and Nursery Classes, and for the Kindergarten Classes, reopening will be on June 06 (Thursday).

·         All parents are requested to collect Books, Elim TShirt, and Elim Bag (this year we have introduced Elim School Bag) on June 01 (Saturday) from 10.30 to 12.00 noon.

·         From June 3 to 7 (Monday to Friday) the School timing will be from 9.00-11.00 am.

·         The School transportation will be available only from June 10 (Monday) as regular classes will begin only from June 10.

·         The regular timing for Nursery and Kindergarten classes will be from 9.00 to 12.30 pm, and for the PreNursery class, the timing will be from 9.30-12.00.

·         Pls send water bottle, snacks box, and a pair of dress, and pls label all the belonging of students, including shoes/sandals.

Instruction to Beginners

As the little ones begin the schooling we request the co-operation of the parents in the following areas:

Settling-in Period Process

Children (especially the young ones) when join the School as beginners, the first few days are considered settling-in period, and it is a process. The parents and the School need to work together, at least for the first few days, to help the child settle down at the School environment. For the first day one of the parents need to be around the School (we may not allow you to be inside the classroom though, unless any emergency situation arises), and for the initial days, child may attend the School only for few hours (1-2 hours). From the second day onwards, parents need not to be around.

We request parents not to be over anxious and to be very co-operative with the School so that a smooth transition from home to School can take place for every child. Please be assured that our staff are trained in handling the situation and we will make sure that the child would settle in as early as possible.

General Instructions to All

·         The School does not have a uniform dress code, but provides Elim TShirt, to be worn on Mondays (Assembly Day) and a Week Day (Sports Activity Day). For the other days, please make sure that your child is properly attired with reasonably good and comfortable clothes. Try to avoid skirts for girls as much as possible. In case if they have to wear skirts, they must wear proper tights.

·         Children may wear shoes or sandals to School. Please make sure that they can wear and remove them easily whenever required. (Please avoiding wearing slippers to school).

·         The School will provide Elim School Bag, and pls get a water bottle, snacks box, and a towel, and label them, so that it will not be mixed with other children’s items. (For young children, one pair of extra dress need to be kept in the bag.)

·         Make sure that your child has a proper meal in the morning before coming to School.

·         Send only fresh food for snacks or meals. Please do not send more than what your child can eat, especially for the morning snack time, please send something very light, such as freshly cut fruits, cake, biscuits, etc, so that children can finish them fast and get on to activities.

·         Make sure that children’s nails are cut properly so that scratches on the body of other children can be avoided.

·         We notice children biting others is a common problem among toddlers, and if your child has such habit, please deal with this very strictly at home.

·         If children are not toilet trained School requires them to wear diapers. Extra diapers need to be kept in the bag along with one pair of dress and a hand towel as well.

·         If the children carry any school material (play items or learning items), please return to the School the next day.

·         If you have any feedback, positive or negative, for the school administration, please feel open to share with the administration. We heartily welcome your suggestions and inputs as we desire to serve one another.

Elim Annual Day and Graduation 2019

Finally, the Great Day for the Graduating Class of 2019 and for the whole Elim family came on February 23 (Saturday) as family members, well wishers, and church members of Covenant Reformed Church, gathered together at the specially decorated Covenant Sanctuary Hall on the 3rd and 4th level of Elim Premises, Doddakannelli, Sarjapur Road. It was a most blessed and beautiful occasion as everything was planned very meticulously by Elim staff and management together and displayed the vision, talents, commitments, devotion, and determination of the staff and management of Elim. The students performed very beautifully, even the tiny tots of Relda mam's class (playgroup class). Costumes were beautifully selected and attired, dance steps were perfect, skits were thoughtful, academically and morally applicable. Parents were very supportive. Kudos to entire Elim family (both the teaching and non-teaching Staff of Elim) who tirelessly worked hard for the last several months without outsourcing any services and displayed the service spirit of Elim. Thank You dear ones your excellent team work and the spirit of devotion displayed. Most importantly, we want to give all Glory and Honor to our blessed God and Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ, who has been the source of all our strength and passion. Stacking Game at Elim Preschool

Dear Parents, we have initiated Stacking Game for our Nursery and Kindergarten students. This is an international competition game, planned to stimulate students' brain activity and hand-coordination skills, very famous in the US, Japan, Singapore, etc. This game is an ongoing program at Elim, done twice in a month for the KG class students, planned to help their overall growth path, preparing them for their higher level competitive mind from Std 1. Elim Christmas Program, 2018

This year's Christmas program was held on Dec 20, and we want to thank God for a blessed occasion celebration, thanking God for the gift of the Savior, Jesus Christ. We also want to thank all our staff and parents for all the preparations done.

Pre-Nursery Class Play Area and Music Room

Elim's Pre-Nursery class has an exclusive play area. Elim also has an external play area, mainly for the higher classes. Recently Elim has set up a Sound of Music Room to introduce music and sounds to our students. This is an exclusive Music Room where various musical instruments and sounds be introduced to the students, and all the musical activities, dance, and practice and preparation for the school special events will take place in this room. With the internet connectivity and a TV screen, students be introduced hundreds of music learning videos as part of their extra curricular learning.

Class Outing for the KG Classes, HAL Museum

Dear Parents, following are the photos from the Class outing planned for the Senior and Junior KG classes. This year we could take the students to HAL Museum on Old Airport Road, and we thank God for the blessed time the students had. Every Monday Elim Preschool has School Assembly time, where all the students with all the staff spend 15 minutes at the front corridor. The Assembly includes prayer, story telling, show & tell by students, National pledge, and National Anthem. One of the highlights of the Assembly is that we give opportunity to our students to lead in prayer, show&tell, anthem and pledge so that students are able to develop confidence in facing a big audience, and they are able to develop communication skills as well.

Independence Day 2018

Elim Preschool and Care, Sarjapur Road, had her Independence Day Celebrations 2018 on Aug 14, Tuesday, with all the departments participating with colorful costumes, dance and songs, patriotic themes, etc. The program was held Elim's newly built Sanctuary Hall, on the 2nd and 3rd level of Elim Building. All the students have done very well, including the tiny tots of the Pre-Nursery class. We want to thank all the parents for your support in getting the costumes and dressing up the students so well. New Academic Year, 2018-19

Dear Parents, pls note that Elim will reopen for the new academic year on June 04 (Monday) at 9.00 AM for the new students, and on June 06 (Wednesday) for the returning students. Pls note that school transportation will be available only from June 07 (Thursday).

Those parents who have still not confirmed the continuity of the student for the next season, pls do confirm with Elim office at the earliest as we are in the process of finalizing the list of students and the respective class divisions are going on. We also need to update the School App Eduflex with the final list of students. 

Those new parents who have visited us and still not finalized the admissions with us, pls complete the formalities by May 26 (Saturday). Pls note that for all the classes, except Prenursery, only very few seats are remaining to be filled. For the remaining seats, we will purely follow first come first serve basis, regardless of your previous visits and counselings with us. Elim Annual Day and Graduation 2018

Elim Preschool and Care, Doddakannelli, Sarjapur Road, had her 7th Annual Day and Graduation on Feb 24, 2018. It was held at Elim's newly built Sanctuary Hall, a double deck spacious multipurpose hall, with a seating capacity of 300 people. The hall, both the lower and upper deck, was fully packed with parents and loved ones of our students. Thanks to our neighbor, the V V R School, who graciously allowed their wast adjacent empty ground for the parking. The event was spectacular with color, sound, costume, and precision, fully planned and executed by our own staff, as Elim does not outsource any of her services. The whole program was lasted for almost 2 hours, where all the classes department-wise performed skits, stories, dances, and songs. We want to thank our Almighty God who made this event so beautiful and memorable. We also want to thank all the parents who have been very supportive of the School, especially this event. We also acknowledge all the hard-work the Elim Staff put in, working tirelessly for the last 3 months, to make this event a very special for all. A special word of thanks goes to Deepa Mam, who was the MC for the event, and Christy Mam for her excellent contribution for the dance performances of the classes. We also acknowledge the contributions of Teresa Mam, Sheela Mam, and Relda Mam for all the practical arrangements they have done. We want to congratulate the graduates, the 18 of our precious students, who completed 2-3 years of their life with us at Elim. We wish them all the best for their journey ahead.

Elim's PreNursery Class 2017-18

Elim's Prenursery Department is handled by Relda Verma, who has been with Elim from the beginning of the School, last eight years, and all these years, she has been taking care of the Prenursery Class. She is a specialist in taking care of the tiny tots, and her experience and expertise has been well commended by the parents. 
In the Prenursery level Elim admits children from the age of 1.8, and for these children, the transition from home to school takes place here. It is a very demanding task, but, at the same time, if the experienced hands are handling this, it becomes enjoyable and enriching, both for children as well as for parents. This is what is happening at Elim's Prenursery class. 
At this level, our special focus is to help the children to be independent by developing self-confident, enrichment of vocabulary in English language through story telling, learning rhymes, and communication, recognizing colors, shapes, alphabets, and numbers, and expressing themselves through coloring, artwork, and other thematic creative work. After spending few months in the program, children become mature and confident to go to the next level of their learning, that is Nursery Class.

Elim, the Leading Preschool on Sarjapur Road

Elim has come a long way. Over the last Seven years of its existence, Elim has become the leading preschool on Sarjapur Road. Elim is able to cater to the preschool and childcare needs of parents not only from the surroundings but also from areas such as Gunjur, Dommasandra, Ballandur, and HSR Layout. Playgroup/Prenursery (1.8-2.10)

Early childhood learning is planned here with a special focus on children interacting each other through indoor play activities, music, art & craft, story-telling, and outdoor play and games. This helps children to be confident and independent at an early age.

Nursery (2.10-3.10)

Children’s organized learning begins here with a well-planned curriculum, focusing on phonics, enrichment of vocabulary, writing, and working with thematic materials to enhance their understanding on the basic areas of early childhood education and practical life.

Kindergarten (3.10-6.0)

Children advance in their early school learning process here with the help of fully equipped Montessori classrooms. Children are prepared to make and read simple sentences with correct pronunciation, cursive writing, advance in arithmetic, express themselves confidently through show & tell, engage themselves in group and thematic activities, participate in competitive games and activities, etc, etc.

Extended Daycare (1.8-6.0)

Elim's extended daycare is only for Elim students and we do not provide afterschool care for students from other schools. Children are engaged with extra-curricular activities, moulded with ethical values, and physically developed through outdoor play and games.
