Preschool Admission for 2014-15 Started

Dear Parents
We have started the admission process for the academic year 2014-15

Following are the details:

Playgroup (M0): If you have a child who has completed one year old, he/she will be eligible for our playgroup class. The class strength of the playgroup is 8-10 children with one trained teacher and one assistant. We have planned curriculum, based on the Montessori/Creedo materials, for this age group children, along with other things as well.

Nursery (M1): The age level required for admission here is two and a half years. Children here deal with preliminary Montessori materials, along with phonics and numbers, and many other things. Writing the alphabets & numbers and counting also will begin here. The class strength here is 12-15 children with one trained teacher and one assistant.

Junior KG (M2): Children who completed 4.0 years will be eligible for this class. Children here go through the fully set up Montessori class room, dealing with sensorial, arithmetic, and language materials. Here children are able to make their own words, pronounce it correctly, write, and start reading. Children also taken to the nature to experience the real world around them. The class strength here is 12-15 children with one trained teacher and one assistant.

Senior KG (M3): The age level for M3 admission is 5.0 years. This is the advanced level in the Montessori system of education where children progress more into language, arithmetic, biology, geography, etc, etc. The class strength here is 12-15 children with one trained teacher and one assistant.

The class timing for all the classes, except M3, is 09.00 - 12.00 and for M3 is 09.0 - 01.00.

Along with the regular lessons, Elim also emphasizes character formation of our students. For character formation, Elim emphasizes Christian principles from the Word of God (as Elim is run by a Christian educational Trust), through stories, choruses, and moral lessons.

Elim's Daycare & Afterschool Care Program

Elim has a daycare program running from 8.00 am till 7.00 pm and the age level is from 1.00 till 10.00. This also includes the afterschool care program for students from Elim and other schools. School arranges planned activities for the afterschool care children.

Elim is a service-oriented institution, and not a profit-making business entity. All our staff, including the management, are with a calling to serve the people. This makes Elim a very distinct institution of this category.

At the same time, Elim has a highly qualified teaching staff pool:

(1) Bessy Skariah, our principal, has a Masters Degree from Singapore in Early Childhood Education, and a Diploma from India Montessori Training Centre (IMTC). She has an experience of over 20 years in dealing with children in Singapore, Chennai, and Bangalore.

(2) Sheela Belin, who is in-charge of our junior KG, is a M Sc, M Phil graduate.

(3) Relda Verma, who is in-charge of our Playgroup children, is an IT Engineer, resigned to help the children as she loves the little ones.

(4) Smitha is a young and talented preschool teacher who loves children.

(5) Sirisha Paul, our latest addition to the teaching staff pool, is an MBA graduate, but gave up her HR position for taking care of children as she loves children. She was part of a preschool establishment in Hyderabad before moving to Bangalore to join Elim.

Elim has a spacious campus of its own with spacious class rooms, adjacent playground, and many other facilities.

Elim is located at a stone throw-away from the Sarjapur Main Road, before Doddakannelli Jn, opposite of Indian Oil Petrol Pump, adjacent to V V R School (if you are not familiar of our location, pls locate us on Google Map).

Elim has a very affordable fee structure as well. To begin with, for new admissions, parents need to pay Rs 2,000.00 as Registration, and Rs 3,000.00 as Annual Utility Fee (for books, photocopy materials, etc, etc, for the whole year), and your child's admission is secured with Elim. For the existing children, if they want to continue with Elim, parents need to pay only Rs 3,000.00 (the annual utility fee) to secure their place for the next academic year. The annual utility fee is applicable only for preschool children, and not for daycare or afterschool care children.

Please call us for an appointment with the school Principal: Tel: 9590 7373 52 / 42

Follow this blog for more photos, videos, and information on the excellent facility, education, and care we provide for so many children on Sarjapur Road vicinity.

Elim also provides full Daycare and After-School Care from 08.00 am till 07.00 pm.

Elim also has its own (not out-sourced) School vehicles and drivers for transportation for a very reasonable fee.

For parents, particularly looking for safety, we would like you to know that at Elim, nothing is outsourced. Bessy and her team handles everything, supervises things all through the day, including cooking for the children, cleaning the toilets, transportation, etc, etc. We do not have any franchisee as we do not believe in money-making franchisee culture. Elim is the result of our own hard-work and by the mercy of the loving Father in Heaven, as He has provided an area of service for us. No wonder, many parents have considered Elim as the Second Home for their children.

Elim's High Quality Service and Committed Staff

Elim is known for high quality service. This comes through a very committed, service oriented, mindset of our staff and management. Many of our staff have joined Elim not just with the motive of financial support for them, but with a heart to serve together with the Elim management. For this very reason, Elim management is very selective in choosing our staff. For our Preschool section, we have four highly qualified and experienced staff:

Bessy George Skariah
Bessy, the wife of Rev Dr George Skariah, has a masters degree in early childhood education with character formation emphasis from Singapore. She also has a diploma in Montessori system of education from India Montessori Training Centre (IMTC). She has been in the field of education and service for the last 20 over years. At Elim Bessy is the overall in charge of curriculum development and implementation. She is a mother of two children, Abigail and Nathanael, and also teaches piano at Elim Melody Piano Learning Centre. She also serves the Lord Jesus Christ together with Rev George Skariah at Covenant Reformed Church, Doddakannelli, Sarjapur Road.

Relda Emilin Verma
Relda is an IT engineer by profession, but resigned to help Elim. Since she has a heart to work with children, she went for Montessori training and got her diploma. She has been with Elim ever since its inception. She works together with Bessy in curriculum development and implementation, and in charge of our playgroup department. She is a mother of three children, Vaibhav, Vincent, and Dorcas.

Sheela Fernades
Sheela has been in this service for many years, working in different parts of India. She has a diploma in nursery children's education. She is very creative and talented in dealing with children, especially children of early age. At Elim, she takes care of our nursery (M0) children. Sheela is a mother of two children, Ryan and Renisha.

Sheela Belin Kulasekar
Sheela B is an M Sc, M Phil graduate, but instead of pursuing a lucrative career in today's academic world, she joined Elim with a love for children. At Elim she takes care of our older children. Sheela is a mother of two children, Joel and Rachel.

The dedication, hard work, and passion of these four ladies, supported by many others, have taken Elim to a level where we are able to provide high quality service to our community, especially in the area of early childhood education. No wonder Elim has become a talking point in the Sarjapur Road vicinity.

Elim is not to establish any brand name, but we are here to serve the community. The very reason for our service is that we have been very much blessed by the Lord Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, through His Word. Having blessed by Him, we want to be a blessing.

Our Programs (and Age)

Playgroup/Prenursery (1.5-2.8)

Early childhood learning is planned here with a special focus on children interacting each other through indoor play activities, music, art & craft, story-telling, and outdoor play and games. This helps children to be confident and independent at an early age.

Nursery (2.9-3.8)
