Sub. Circular 2015-16/3                                                                                  Date: July 16, 2015

Dear Parents,

The School has finalized the Annual Calendar 2015-16, along with the main events for the same academic year. Pls note the following:

1.       The School has only very selected holidays--those which are very prominent in the national calendar. This is to ensure maximum working days for the children. There is a two weeks mid-year break in October, during the Dushra holidays, and this will apply to children from all the departments (Playgroup, Prenursery, Nursery, and KG), except Daycare department, for which Oct 22-23 will be a holiday. In Dec, there will be a 10 days annual holiday which will be a complete shutdown of the school. Daycare parents are requested to plan early as the School will not be able to make any adjustments during this season.
2.       Pls note that for the events that are marked as Open House Event, we expect the presence of the parents.
3.       This year the School is planning for few new things such as Annual Sports Day, Ethnic Day, etc, etc. One of the important new additions is the Graduation Day on March 19, 2016. We are planning for a Big Day, along with the Annual Day, to make the day very memorable to the ones who will be leaving us for good.
4.       Pls take note of the Parent Teachers Meetings planned for the current academic year, and plan early so that you would not miss them. The details of the timing of different departments will be announced later, and we request you to strictly follow the timing.
5.       Those who avail the School transport are requested to directly contact the drivers in case your child would not be taking the transport for a particular day and the numbers of the drivers are:
Pravin : 9901519677
Dennis: 8147704839

6.       Parents are also requested to call the respective teachers if you have any query about the well-being of your child at Elim, and the details follow:
Pre Nursery >> Relda Verma (991633133)
Nursery 1  >> Sheela Belin (9739070817)
Nursery 2 >> Smitha Revankar (9902144553)
Kindergarten >> Bessy Skariah (9590737342)

7.       The School has a happy note to share with the parents that Elim Preschool and Care got the recognition and authorization from the Education Department of the Karnataka State Govt as we could properly register the institution with the Department. This has become a mandatory requirement for all preschools from this academic year onwards, and we immediately obliged to fulfil all righteousness.
8.       The School functions normal tomorrow (July 17, Fri), unless the Govt declares a holiday for the schools.

Yours in His Service,
George Skariah,
For Elim Management.

Elim's New Academic Year 2015-16, an Important Note:

We want to thank all the parents for the overwhelming response towards Elim and placing your trust on us. We will work hard and try our level best to meet all your expectations in taking good care of your children and giving them the best education possible for their age. If you have any feedbacks or suggestions pls let us know.

For those parents who are planning to admit your children at Elim during this academic season, we are sorry to inform you that we have closed the admissions in all the departments. Elim has two more admission seasons during this academic year, one in November (After the Mid-year Vacation), and another in January, 2016. You may try for those seasons. Pls contact the office in advance to book a place for your child.

Looking forward to having a productive and safe academic year ahead,

Rev George Skariah,

For Elim Management.

Elim's New Academic Year 2015-16:

Sub. Circular 2015-16/2                                                                                         Date: June 12, 2015

Dear Parents,

We are happy that the new academic year started fairly well and almost all the children have settled down well. The first two weeks have been mainly settling in period for the new children. Teachers have started introducing the very basic things with the new children such as placing the activity mat, taking study materials from the shelf carefully and placing them on the mat, how to be seated, how to greet, etc, etc. For those children who have already settled down, we have started lessons for them.

We kindly request parents to note the following:
1.       We send the school diary today and pls fill in the particulars as instructed by respective teachers. Every Friday the respective teachers will give a written update to the parents, recording what the children have done during the week time, and instruction for some activities during the weekend, where we expect some involvement from the parents.
2.       Please make sure that children are ready for school on time. We desire all the children to be at school between 9.00-9.15. The first 15-20 minutes are the settling in period for the day’s activities.
3.       The closing bye bye song will be sung by 12.00 noon and children will be ready to leave the school by then. (For those children taking the school transportation, the second route children will leave only after 12.20, and during the extra 20 minutes, these children will be given extra learning work to do, assisted by the respective teachers).
4.       We have made some rearrangements with the class allocation and the details are below:
Pre Nursery >> Relda Verma (991633133)
Nursery 1  >> Sheela Belin (9739070817)
Nursery 2 >> Smitha Revankar (9902144553)
Kindergarten >> Bessy Skariah (9590737342)

5.       Though the school does not have a dress code, we expect comfortable and safe dress for both boys and girls. We discourage girls wearing frock. We suggest short pants would be safe and comfortable for them. For safety reasons, pls make sure that children wear a proper sandal which would fit them well. (Strictly no slippers please). Children are not allowed to wear any gold or costly ornaments to the school. If children still would do so, the school management would not take any responsibility, in case of children losing them.
6.       Every Wednesday is the school Sports Activity Day and during that time, children will be having planned sports activity at the school playground. Make sure that your children wear proper trouser and sandal/shoe for the same.
7.       For those parents who have not cleared the School tuition and transportation fee for Quarter 1, we have attached the details and pls pay the fee as early as possible.
8.       Following are the Tel Nos of our drivers if you want to contact them:
Pravin : 9901519677
Dennis: 8147704839

Elim's New Academic Year 2015-16 started with a good intake of students in all the departments of Elim.

Sub. Circular 2015-16/1                                                                                 Date: June 03, 2015

Dear Parents,

Welcome to Elim. Elim is a place where godliness, commitment, sincerity, and transparency matter most; hence our logo: “Nurturing in Godliness.” We, as an institution, are committed to service. That makes Elim a different institution. The parents of the children of previous years experienced this with Elim and commented well of this commitment. One of the parents of our Senior KG class wrote last year during the annual evaluation time, “It has been a great experience both for Arav and us, being part of Elim. This school is different from other schools. I hope it stays that way.” Another parent wrote, “Elim school is the best school we found, she (the student) has learnt a lot here. Thank you Elim management. I hope this school will grow. I wish all the best for the next academic year, 2015-16.” These sincere comments of our parents make us very humble before the Almighty God, and at the same time remind us the great responsibility on our shoulders to serve you people. It is a privilege for us, and we look forward to another year of faithful and quality service. Let us work together, co-operate each other, and support one another to make the lives of our children comfortable, and the learning fun-filled and enjoyable.

The first few days of the academic year is very light. For the new children, teachers will be starting introducing the very basic things such as placing the activity mat (the typical Montessori system), taking study materials from the shelf carefully and placing them on the mat, how to be seated, how to greet, etc, etc. The returning children will be having their revisions.

We kindly request parents to note the following:
1.      From Thursday onwards (June 04) the School timing will be from 9.00 am – 12.00 noon. (Some senior children will be having an extended time of till 12.30 pm). Those parents who have opted for School transportation, the School will provide both pick up and drop facility from Thursday onwards. Please co-operate with us that the transportation arrangements will take some time to be fully regularized. This means, for the first two weeks the timing of the arrival and departure of the vehicle at your door-step might be varied. Please do not make anxious calls to the school regarding transport. We will try our maximum to co-operate with you in informing the varied timings as much as possible. But, at the same time, please prepare yourselves to wait for a little longer, in case your child hasn’t arrived at the stipulated time. (At this point, we will not be sharing the drivers’ numbers with you as frequent calls from parents would disturb their concentration in driving, and the safety of our children will be at risk. Rather, if you require any information on transportation, you may contact me on this number >> 9590 7373 52). We will share the drivers’ numbers with you at a later time. Pls be assured that there will be an assistant accompanying the driver all the time while collecting and sending back the children, even if there will be only one child of the same sex. For safety reasons, while sending back the children, they would be handed over only to the authorized persons to receive the children. (Pls do not make any arrangement with the security guards of your apartment to receive your children from the school vehicle.) If the authorized person is not around to collect the child, we will bring the child back to the school and parents need to collect the child from the school.
2.      Please make sure that children are ready for school on time. We desire all the children to be at school between 9.00-9.15. The first 15-20 minutes are the settling in period for the day’s activities.
3.      The closing bye bye song will be sung by 12.00 noon and children will be ready to leave the school by then. In normal situations, please do not come to collect the children before that. Those parents who will be collecting the children from the school, pls do so on time. Children need to be collected between 12.00 and 12.15.
4.      Please make sure that children have a proper breakfast in the morning so that you can avoid sending heavy things for the school snacks time.
5.      The school is preparing the School Diary and we will make sure that every child will get his/her personal diary by June 12. Parents are requested to check the diary regularly.
6.      To inform the parents what the children are doing at the school, the school has initiated few ways: 1. the school has prepared an overall curriculum (outline) for each section, and it is available at the school office for parents to view. 2. Every Friday the concerned teachers will write in each child’s diary, giving an outline of what the child has done during the week. 3. The school also plans periodical parent – teacher meeting, minimum once in a quarter.
7.      Therefore, we kindly request parents, in normal situations, not to expect daily updates from our teachers. It will be difficult for the school to manage.
8.      If you have any particular concern to be communicated to the class teacher we allow you to do so and following is the list of respective class teachers with their telephone numbers:

Playgroup (age 1.0 – 2.0)       >>  Smitha Revankar (9902144553)
Pre Nursery (age 2.0 – 3.0)    >>  Relda Verma (991633133)
Nursery (age 3.0 - 4.0)           >>  Sheela Belin (9739070817)
Kindergarten (age 4.0 – 6.0) >>  Bessy Skariah (9590737342)

9. For hygiene and safety reasons, pls regularly trim the nails of the children.
10.  Strictly, if your child is sick, pls do not send to school.
11.  It is the responsibility of the parents to neatly label your children’s belongings, especially water bottle, tiffin box, etc.
12.  School tuition and transportation fee for Quarter 1 (June, July, August) to be paid by June 10. Pls make sure you pay the fee on time. Fees can be paid either by cash or cheque or internet transfer. Cheque needs to be in favor of India Covenant Ministries Trust.

Once the transfer is done, pls email the details to us.

Fee details would be sent to you individually by the hands of the children.

13.  The School annual calendar will be placed on the noticeboard shortly for your perusal.

Elim Gloria, the Annual Day Events of 2014-15
Elim Childcare and Preschool, Doddakannelli, Sarjapur Road, Bangalore, had its Annual Day Cum Christmas Program, 2014, entitled, Elim Gloria 2014, held on December 13, 2014. It was a memorable occasion where around 100 children between the age of 1 and 10 participated in the program, coming from Prenursery, Nursery, Kindergarten, and Daycare classes. Elim Staff worked very hard for almost 2 months, planning meticulously and preparing the children well ahead to make sure that it would be a professional performance. We could achieve this by the mercy and help of our Almighty God, and we want to thank Him for that. We also want to thank all the parents who co-operated very well with the Staff in getting the necessary costumes and other materials for the presentation. The program reflected not only the academic excellence our children are able to achieve at Elim, but along with that their character formation, good habits, and overall development were also seen at the program. Children were able to recite the Ten Commandments, memory verses, and sing many rhymes and choruses that could impact their lives. Following are some of the videos and photos of the program.

Our Programs (and Age)

Playgroup/Prenursery (1.5-2.8)

Early childhood learning is planned here with a special focus on children interacting each other through indoor play activities, music, art & craft, story-telling, and outdoor play and games. This helps children to be confident and independent at an early age.

Nursery (2.9-3.8)

Children’s organized learning begins here with a well-planned curriculum, focusing on phonics, enrichment of vocabulary, writing, and working with thematic materials to enhance their understanding on the basic areas of early childhood education and practical life.

Kindergarten (3.9-6.0)

Children advance in their early school learning process here with the help of fully equipped Montessori classrooms. Children are prepared to make and read simple sentences with correct pronunciation, cursive writing, advance in arithmetic, express themselves confidently through show & tell, engage themselves in group and thematic activities, participate in competitive games and activities, etc, etc.

Daycare and Afterschool Care (1.5-9.0)

Children are engaged with extra-curricular activities, moulded with ethical values, and physically developed through outdoor play and games.

Elim is located on Sarjapur Road, before Doddakannelli Jn, opposite of Indian Oil Petrol Station, adjacent to V V R School, just 700 mts away from the Wipro Corporate office on Sarjapur Road.

Our Motto

“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old,
he will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6)
